Denklingen Bridge: The track relaid

Released Wednesday, 23rd November, 2011

It was exactly one year ago that the reconstruction works on the Denklingen Railway Bridge began, when the road rail excavator of the company "Hering Gleis- und Ingenieurbau" laid the last track section onto the backfilled concrete bridge. On the very same day the crew started with the tamping of the re-laid track section. Some minor works remain to be done - as well as the preparation for the reconstruction of the steel part next year - including fundraising, as these works cannot be done without money.

You can watch the strenuous works of the last days at the end of our photo gallery. Please also note the current articles in our "Reports - Media Coverage" section!.

By the way: The St. Nicholas steam trains of the Dieringhausen Railway Museum will run between Osberghausen and Oberwiehl. They will not yet pass the Denklingen railway bridge towards Waldbröl.
