Welcome To The Wiehltalbahn (Wiehl Valley Railway)!

Photo of the month May 2012: Colour photos from the "first life" of our line are very rare. So much the better that Joachim Zarnack had his camera ready back in the early sixties when this photo was taken. The "Elberfelder", as the train from (Wuppertal-)Elberfeld to Waldbröl was called, just branched onto the Wiehltalbahn and passes the Kohlmeier quarry near Weiershagen, whose qarry wall can be seen above the crusher building. The crusher still exists, but taking a photo showing the the Wiehl beck, the crusher and the train isn't possible any more.
